Highlights of Legislative Accomplishments

Arnold has sponsored, co-sponsored, and championed hundreds of bills on issues important to Covington, Ludlow, Bromley, Kenton Vale, and Park Hills, including:

• Establish sentence of life imprisonment without parole (Briede Bill)
• Put teeth into fight to combat slum landlords and dilapidated property,
• including increasing tax rate by 500% on abandoned property
• Fought county efforts to apply increases in occupational taxes to cities with similar taxes
• Prohibit sexual predators from living within 1,000 feet of schools
• Establish “best interest of child” as legal standard (working with Covington Block Watch)
• Require informed consent for minors
• Provide tax credits for rehabilitation and construction of historic properties
• Save taxpayer money by improve bidding processes for subcontracting of work by water districts, consolidating code boards, and allowing cities to consolidate for efficiency
